By now it’s almost two o’clock. I’m waiting in this drab looking white room; they haven’t even bothered to put a few magazines on the table. Soon I will be hypnotized. If I’m easily hypnotized, I might get a MESI-implant. That will probably not happen, because only 14% of all subjects can be hypnotized so easily and deeply. Funny though, hypnotism. I remember going to a hypnotism show once with my parents. We were in one of those holiday resorts where my parents had rented a bungalow. There were lot’s of activities to take part in; they had bowling, a subtropical swimming pool, a shop and a restaurant. The show was weird. The magician’s “victims” came on stage like meek little lambs and were made to act like 5 year olds. One man drew a ship with cannon holes. Then they were all told they were cannibals and they jumped up and down around an imaginary totem-pole. I have never seen real cannibals but I’m sure they do not behave like those people did. It looked like they were playing Indians. I understand now that this is quite normal. You will not become a cannibal while under hypnosis. You merely experience it from your memories, memories that are so latent that you’re not even conscious of their existence. Under hypnosis you become an actor playing out your own past. I’m wondering how easily I am to be hypnotized. But I’m happy to say I stayed in the audience that evening I saw the show with my parents. Apparently you can only be hypnotized if you are susceptible to it. But I wasn’t going to put myself under the influence of that third rate showman of course! It’s only another five hours before I will be admitted to the leftwing. The room they’ve put me in also serves as recovery room. There is a mirrored window with a curtain that I can shut whenever they allow me some privacy. I intend to keep it shut as much as possible. From tonight on I will not get anything to eat, my blood will be checked again and when they wake me tomorrow morning at six, they will shave part of my skull. Then, around seven in the morning, I will have the operation. Ah, there is the man who will hypnotize me.
